MELICONCERTOS 2020

NIFF extends its activities beyond cinema and projection screens. The diversity of the different artistic disciplines and free cultural offerings are demonstrated once again with the MELICONCERTOS. On Friday, September 4th and Saturday, September 5th, from 2:00 to 2:30 pm in the streets of Pamplona's Old Town, NIFF will award a unique and special urban space to three local artists: Naiara Ruz, Elisa Bayona, and Ibai Gallardo. An intimate and approachable format that aims to bring together all the festival's friends, but also to capture the attention of those who haven't yet met us...

NAIARA RUZ

Her career in the arts and music spans more than twenty years. In 1999, she participated in the Boulevard Jazz Singer-Songwriters Meeting, which allowed her to record her first album, Caja de Música. She continued to combine her singing and dancing careers, as well as her studies in the fields of Education, Psychology, and Personal Growth. In 2004, she recorded a single with the song "Adelante," composed by Xabi San Martín (La Oreja de Van Gogh), and her own song, "Sucedió." In 2005 and 2006, she was a backing vocalist in Germany for Tales from the Secret Forest by John Kelly (The Kelly Family) and Maite Itoiz (Navarrese soprano).

In 2007, she composed "Escápate" with Mikel Salas, promoting tourism in Navarre. She has worked as a backing vocalist for albums by Kutxi Romero and Ja Ta Ja, Bocanada, El Portal de Jade, Iván Sánchez, and Pedro Razkin. She was the vocalist for the group El Portal de Jade until 2014, with whom she recorded two albums and performed nationally. She currently performs solo and with the duo Maskapé alongside her brother Javier Ruz.

ELISA BAYONA E IBAI GALLARDO

Elisa's first contact with music was at the Joaquín Maya Music School, studying cello, although she later discovered at the Orfeón Pamplonés that what she really loved was singing. Ibai Gallardo has been a self-taught musician since he was given his first guitar. Since then, he's accumulated several guitars and a lot of artistry to show for it.

Elisa and Ibai met three years ago and since then, they've combined their psychology studies with performing weekly duo concerts at Tximistarri, a bar in San Sebastián that already feels like a second home. Whenever they have the chance, they always go to Urgulleko Polboriña, a small bar in the heart of Urgull.
