NIFF Newsletter
For the 2024 edition of the festival, eight university students are contributing to the event's official newsletter by publishing critical reviews and interviews with the competing directors. The selected students participated in an online training session with an Italian film critic. The goal is to practice critical writing and deepen their knowledge of contemporary world cinema.

Participants in the official NIFF newsletter:

Ainhoa Díaz (Barcelona, 2002) graduated in Audiovisual Communication from the Pompeu Fabra University, specializing in film direction and screenwriting. This led her to participate in projects in the fields of fiction and documentary, and she independently produces pieces that range from fiction to essay. Her creative interests revolve around narrative and visual experimentation. She has given presentations on feminist culture and cinema in collaboration with the Autonomous University of Barcelona, and has been accredited at various festivals (Cannes, Berlin, etc.) as a freelance film critic. In 2023, her short film "Si pogués sostenir-me com ho fan els arbres" (If you can hold me like you fan the trees) premiered in the Nest section of SSIFF, which is still in distribution. She is currently working on her next project.

Film has been a passion of hers since childhood, not only as a means of entertainment and imagination, inspired by the magical worlds of Studio Ghibli, but also as a powerful tool for social change. For over 15 years, she has been an active member of a scout group, another way in which, through play and community projects, she has championed social transformation and made the world a better place. Her university internship has offered her the opportunity to work at Nadir, a small cooperative in Barcelona that offers audiovisual workshops in schools and colleges.
